The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services on the community.

SASSA will be rendering services which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, in addition to the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency reported it's alarmed with regards to the high number of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The goal in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a significant quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This can be due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office dedicated to service the area every day. The service issue made for intervention activities a significant influx of likely beneficiaries, which makes it more info complicated for that office to attend to all people who visit a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional assets to allow the servicing of all customers and maximize use of Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
